This little girl came in yesterday with a bump on her head. OUCH. It's been there for FOUR MONTHS.

Hi Katie-
what was the diagnosis for that head bump, or is this a situation where you offered antibiotics, various creams and just hoped the thing would get better?
It's quite a mind-bender to see these reflections, 14 years after my own voyage to Lambarene as a Fellow in 1992.

it's a buruli ulcer - we put the child on rifampin and strepto and she'll most likely get a graft eventually... we'll see how it progresses.
how fun to hear from previous fellows!
